Intros, intros…
Much like Daniel Plainview abandoned his child, I have abandoned my previous blog to set up a new cosy little home here. Truth be told, I abandoned my previous blog over a year ago when I forgot it existed.
My name’s Jamie Roberts. I’m an illustrator/designer with a dull day job that clings to me like a limpet. Hopefully, before long it will have been scraped off in favour of a life of freelancing and all the joys that brings.
So far, I’ve had some success in small publications like ‘Positive Health at Sea’, which was only available to seafarers, ‘Warmageddon Quarterly’, for which I provided two illustrations of the characters of that world, and more recently, ‘Doxy Proxy’. This is my biggie so far, in that it’s part of Image Comics’ ‘Popgun, Volume 2. It’ll be available in July of this year (2008, in case you’re from the past, or indeed, the future) and I encourage anybody to pick it up. Not just for me (although that would be great), but if you’re at all into comics, it’ll be an experience. I own the first volume, and as an anthology, it blew me away.
So, looking forward, I’ll be updating this blog as often as humanly possible. My ongoing projects are a little hush-hush right now, but should be something I can talk about soon. In the meantime, I’ll post some of my stuff regularly, so you get an idea of what I’m about. One thing I’m not, as far as comic art is concerned, is traditional.
That’s the intro.
